Care for every age

One practice for the whole household.

Choose who you're asking about to see what their visits involve, how long they take and what they cost.

A father smiles with his eyes closed while his toddler daughter rides on his shoulders outdoors.

For the aches that come with carrying everything.

Car seats, laundry baskets, long days at a laptop. Adult visits start with a quick check-in on how your week has been, then hands-on care matched to what you're comfortable with.

People often come in for

  • Low back pain
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Headaches
  • Stiffness from desk work
  • Soreness from lifting kids

What a visit is like

  • About 20 min
  • $60 per follow-up
  • Counts toward the household plan

Hands-on adjustments, or low-force techniques if you prefer them, plus one or two simple stretches that fit into a busy day. Dr. Nia talks you through each step as she goes.

Good to know: your kids can come with you. There's a play corner in view of the table.

A brother and sister hug and laugh together on a living room couch.

Gentle, simple, and a parent always stays in the room.

Kids come in for the same everyday reasons adults do: a tumble at the playground, a sore neck after a game, a heavy backpack. Care for children uses far lighter pressure than for adults and is adjusted to their size.

People often come in for

  • A bump from sports or play
  • Aches from heavy backpacks
  • Neck or back soreness
  • Soreness after a tumble

What a visit is like

  • About 15 min
  • $45 for ages 12 and under
  • Book it right after a parent's visit

We explain each step to your child in words that make sense to them, and we stop whenever they want to. A favorite toy or blanket is always welcome.

Good to know: if something sounds like a question for your pediatrician, we'll mention it and help you work out who to call.

A smiling pregnant woman sits on her bedroom floor with a laptop resting on a cushion.

Comfort-focused care while your body changes.

Pregnancy changes the way you sit, sleep and carry. Pregnancy visits use supportive cushions, side-lying positions when that's easier, and gentle techniques only.

People often come in for

  • Low back and hip discomfort
  • Upper back and rib tension
  • Aches from sleeping positions
  • Back and neck strain after baby

What a visit is like

  • About 20 min
  • $60 per follow-up
  • Counts toward the household plan

At your pace. We ask how your pregnancy is going at every visit, change positions as you need, and are happy to coordinate with your OB or midwife.

Good to know: please check with your OB or midwife before starting chiropractic care. We'll ask about it at your first visit.

A laughing grandfather sits outdoors holding his baby granddaughter as a grandmother reaches in to hold the baby's hand.

Care that meets you where you are.

Whether it's staying comfortable on a morning walk or getting down on the floor with the grandkids, we'll work toward what matters to you, at a pace that feels right.

People often come in for

  • Morning stiffness
  • Low back pain
  • A stiff neck when turning to check mirrors
  • Aches after gardening or walks

What a visit is like

  • About 20 min
  • $60 per follow-up
  • On the household plan if you live together

Never rushed. Low-force techniques, and no quick twisting unless you want it. We allow extra time getting on and off the table and suggest simple movements for home.

Good to know: step-free entrance, a height-adjustable table and chairs with arms in the waiting area. Bring a list of your medications and we'll go over it together.

Your first visit

No surprises. Here's how a first visit goes.

By the end you'll know what's going on, what Dr. Nia recommends and the price, and the decision is always yours. Bringing a child too? Each step says what changes for them.

A practitioner's hands gently cradle the head of a patient lying face down on a cushioned treatment table.
45 to 60 minutesfor a first visit. Follow-ups take about 20.
  1. Before you come

We text you a short welcome form to fill in on your phone, so there's no clipboard in the waiting room.

With a child: there's one form per person, and you fill in theirs.

  2. A real conversation

Tell us what's going on, what you've already tried, and what you'd like to get back to doing, whether that's sleeping through the night or picking up your toddler.

With a child: kids tell it in their own words first, and you fill in the rest.

  3. A gentle exam

We watch how you move and stand, and do simple strength and reflex checks, naming each one before we start it.

With a child: it's mostly watching them walk, bend and balance, with you right beside them.

  4. Your plan, in plain words

The findings, the options, a rough visit count and the price, all before anything is booked. No pressure and no long prepaid packages.

With a child: if you're both being seen, you each get a plan, and we add up the household total so you can compare it with the monthly plan.

  5. First treatment, if it's right for you

If chiropractic care is a good fit, we can start today. If it isn't, you'll know before you leave, and Dr. Nia will help you work out where to go instead.

With a child: a nervous child can watch a parent go first, and stop whenever they like.

What to bring

  • Loose, comfy clothes, like leggings or joggers
  • Your insurance card, if you're using insurance
  • A list of any medications you take
  • Your kids, if that's easier. Really.

Dr. Nia Holloway, chiropractor

Your chiropractor

Meet Dr. Nia.

Nia opened Porchlight so families could get care in one place, from one person who knows everyone's story. She's calm and patient, and she explains things clearly. Before she starts anything, she says what it is and why.

She adapts her approach to each person: low-force techniques for anyone who prefers them, extra patience for nervous first-timers, and a straight answer when something is better handled by a different kind of clinician. Outside the office, you'll usually find her at a Glendale park with her own two kids.

Questions

Things parents usually ask.

Short answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else, just ask when we call you back.

Still wondering about something? Call or text (818) 555-0142.

Do we need a doctor's referral first?

Not at all. Request a visit straight from this page. If you'd like us to keep your doctor in the loop, we're glad to send notes.

Can I bring my kids to my appointment?

Yes. There's a small play corner in view of the table, and plenty of parents bring a stroller straight into the room.

Is chiropractic care gentle enough for kids?

Care for children uses much lighter pressure than for adults and is adjusted to their size. A parent stays in the room, and we stop whenever your child wants to. If we think someone else would suit them better, we'll say so.

What if chiropractic isn't right for me?

You'll hear that at the first visit, rather than being booked in anyway. Dr. Nia will point you toward someone better placed to help, such as your family doctor, your child's pediatrician or a physical therapist.

How many visits does it usually take?

It depends on what's going on, and we won't guess before we've met you. At your first visit we'll give you an honest estimate, and we check in together as we go. There are no long prepaid packages.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept many PPO plans, and for others we can give you a receipt to submit yourself. Tell us your plan when you request a visit and we'll look up your coverage first.

What's best to wear?

Whatever you'd wear for a gentle stretch. A t-shirt with leggings or joggers is ideal.

Request a visit

Ask for a time that works for your family.

About a minute to fill in. Nothing is booked until we confirm a time with you.

  1. We get back to you within one business day, by text, call or email.
  2. We find a time that works, including back-to-back visits for more than one family member.
  3. We send a short welcome form to fill in at home before you come.
