About the practice
A small injury clinic run by Dr. Daniel Reyes, with a massage therapist and a case coordinator so nothing about your care or your claim falls through the cracks.
636 N. Larchmont Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90004
Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–7 p.m. · Sat 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

The doctor
Daniel grew up in Boyle Heights, ten minutes east of here. His father drove a delivery route for twenty-six years and came home most nights with a hand on his lower back. Nobody ever looked at it properly. That is most of the reason this clinic exists.
He opened Larchmont Spine & Injury in 2012 after three years in a high-volume personal-injury practice in the Valley, where he learned two things: crash injuries get missed constantly in the first week, and patients give up on care when the paperwork gets heavy. The clinic is built to fix both. Every new patient gets a full exam with imaging reviewed the same day, a written plan with dates, and a person, Marisol, whose only job is the claim.
He speaks English and Spanish, sees about twenty patients a day, and still does every adjustment himself.
Credentials
Massage therapy
After an injury the muscles guard. Adjust the joint without releasing them and it tightens back up by morning.
Grace Okafor, CMT, has done injury massage for eleven years, the last six here. Sessions run thirty or fifty minutes and are scheduled in the same visit as your adjustment when Dr. Reyes thinks it will help. Injury massage is covered under most auto and workers' compensation claims. For everyone else it is $70 or $110.

The team
Small on purpose. The person who answers the phone is the person who handles your claim.

Owner and treating doctor
Every exam, every adjustment, every plan is his. Fourteen years on Larchmont, about twenty patients a day, and he still does the adjusting himself.

Massage therapist
Eleven years in injury work, the last six here. She handles the muscle side of every plan, usually in the same visit as your adjustment.

Case coordinator
She opens your claim, talks to the adjuster and your attorney, and keeps the records straight. She answers the phone, and she speaks Spanish.

Languages
Dr. Reyes and Marisol both. Exams, plans, and claim calls in whichever you prefer.
Coverage
Med-pay, third-party liability, and liens through your attorney. Cash rates for everyone else. How it works.
Since 2012
About 4,000 patients so far. Roughly half came after a crash. Demonstration figures.
New patients
Fifty minutes with Dr. Reyes, imaging the same day, and a plan you can read.
After an accident
Do them in order. Tick things off as you go; this page remembers where you were, on this device, for next time.
Hit today? Call and say so. Two same-day slots are held for crash patients every day.

The guide
Two of them protect your neck. Four protect your claim. In Los Angeles you need both.
Already past 72 hours?
Come anyway. Late is worse than early and far better than never. We document what we find and why the delay happened.
Get out of traffic if the car moves. Call 911 if anyone is hurt or a car cannot be driven. Ask for the report number before you leave; LAPD and CHP will also give it to you by phone the next day.
We handle: requesting the report if you did not get the number
Adrenaline hides injury for a day or two. An exam inside 72 hours protects your neck and your claim: insurers read a gap between the crash and the first visit as proof there was no injury.
We handle: same-day scheduling and the written exam report
Symptoms move. Neck pain on Tuesday becomes headaches on Thursday. A dated note, even one line, is the record an adjuster cannot argue with.
We handle: clinical notes that line up with your log
Report the crash to your own insurer. Do not give the other driver's insurer a recorded statement before you have been examined. If your policy has med-pay, it covers care from the first visit, whoever was at fault.
We handle: opening the claim with the carrier and billing them directly
You do not need one for a fender bender with a clear at-fault driver. You may want one if you were badly hurt, fault is disputed, or the other driver is uninsured. We treat on a lien either way.
We handle: the lien paperwork and every record your attorney asks for
The plan is written down with dates. Missed weeks show up in the file as gaps and in your neck as guarding. Most crash patients are done in eight to twelve weeks.
We handle: re-exams every four weeks and the final report
Step two is the one that matters most
Send the form and Marisol calls back within the hour during office hours.
What we treatAuto accident
Auto accident and whiplash
Whiplash is a sprain of the neck's joints and ligaments. It happens at 10 mph, often feels like nothing for a day or two, and responds well to care that starts early.
Hit today? Call before noon and you will usually be seen today.
What happens
In a rear-end collision the seat pushes your torso forward while your head stays where it was. For a moment the lower neck bends back while the upper neck bends forward, an S-shape the neck was never built to hold. Then the head snaps back, then forward.
The load lands on the joints and ligaments around C5 and C6. Muscles tighten to protect them, and that guarding is what you feel the next morning.
Why it shows up late
Hour 0
AdrenalineMost people walk away and say they are fine. Many are not.
Day 1–2
Stiffness and headacheUsually at the base of the skull. Turning the head starts to hurt.
Week 1
GuardingShoulders tighten, sleep gets worse, the pain spreads.
Week 2+
Without careGuarding becomes the new normal and recovery takes months instead of weeks.

The first visit
A full exam of the neck and back, a neurological screen for numbness and weakness, and x-rays when the crash or the exam calls for them, read the same day. If you hit your head or blacked out, we look for concussion signs and refer when needed.
Treatment usually starts on the first visit: gentle mobilization and soft-tissue work first, adjustment once instability is ruled out. You leave with a plan and a written report that ties what we found to the crash.
What it costs you
If your own policy has med-pay, it pays first, no fault required. If the other driver was at fault, their insurer pays. If you have an attorney, we treat on a lien and are paid when the case settles. How coverage works.
Bring if you have them
Same-day visits for crash patients
Call and say it was a crash. Marisol will find you one.
What we treatBack pain and sciatica
Back pain and sciatica
Most back pain is mechanical: a joint, a disc, or a muscle doing another one's job. Sciatica is when the low back irritates the nerve that runs down the leg.
Numbness in the groin, trouble with bladder or bowel, or a leg going weak fast: go to the emergency room, not to us.
Where sciatica starts
The sciatic nerve is the thickest nerve in the body. It leaves the spine from five roots in the low back, passes under a small hip muscle, and runs down the back of the thigh before splitting behind the knee.
Pressure anywhere along that path produces leg pain: a bulging disc or a narrowed canal at the root, or a tight piriformis at the hip. The exam tells us which, and the treatment is different for each.

When it is chiropractic
For most low back pain and sciatica, the medical guidelines say the same thing: try movement, manual care, and time before imaging, injections, or surgery. That is what we do, and we say so when it is not enough.
We refer out the same day for red flags: numbness in the groin, bladder or bowel changes, fast-progressing weakness, fever, or a history of cancer.
The shape of a plan
You will know your number of visits by the second one. Most people need six to twelve.
Visits 1–2
Find it, calm itExam, imaging if warranted, and the first treatment. Usually some relief the same day.
Weeks 1–3
Two or three visits a weekAdjustment, flexion-distraction for discs, soft-tissue work. A walking plan starts now.
Weeks 4–8
TaperFewer visits, more of your own movement. Re-exam at week four.
After
You know what to doWhich positions to avoid, which exercises to keep, and when to call.
New patients
First visit $89, or nothing at the visit on an accepted injury claim.
What we treatWork and desk injuries
Work and desk injuries
Eight hours of screen posture loads the neck like a weight held out in front. Add a lifting injury or a repetitive task and the back joins in. Both are treatable, and both are covered when work caused them.
Hurt at work? Report it to your employer in writing within 30 days. Then call us.
Desk neck
Tilt it 45 degrees toward a screen and the muscles at the base of the neck hold roughly four times that. Do it for a working year and the joints at C7 and the upper back stop moving, the shoulders round, and the headaches start at 3 p.m.
It responds well to care, and even better to care plus a screen moved up eight inches.

Lifting and repetition
A box lifted wrong, a patient transferred, a pallet caught before it fell: a single load the back was not braced for. Or the same reach a few hundred times a day until a shoulder or a wrist gives up.
Both get the same first visit: exam, imaging if needed, treatment, and a written plan. The difference is the paperwork, and Marisol has done a lot of it.

While you are here
01
Screen at eye levelTop of the screen level with your eyes. A laptop needs a stand and a separate keyboard.
02
Elbows at ninetyKeyboard low enough that the shoulders drop. Most desks are too high.
03
Hips back, feet flatSit against the chair back. If your feet dangle, a box under them fixes more than you would think.
04
Stand every forty minutesNot a walk. Just stand, look far away, and sit back down properly.
New patients
Saturdays too, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What we treat
Three things bring most people through the door. The rest of the list is below, with one line on each so you can find yourself.
Not sure what you have? Book the exam. The first visit is the diagnosis.

What we treat
We find it, treat it, and show you why it hurt. Injuries first, but the same care works for the back that simply went out.

After an accident
Whiplash often shows up a day or two late, and insurers read a gap in care as no injury. Six steps, in order.
Who you'll see
Every exam and every adjustment is his. Grace handles the muscle work, Marisol handles the claim, and the plan is written down with dates.

How a visit goes
No packages, no contracts. Most people are done in six to twelve visits, and you will know which by the second one.
A full orthopedic and neurological exam. If you were in a crash, we go through it minute by minute.
X-rays when they are warranted, read the same day. We refer out for an MRI when a disc is in question.
Adjustment, soft-tissue work, or both, unless something needs to be ruled out first.
You leave with dates. Marisol leaves with your claim number.

Common questions
If yours is not here, Marisol has heard it. Call.
No. Call or send the form. If your workers' comp claim needs network approval, Marisol sorts that out before your first visit.
Nothing at the visit on an accepted auto or injury claim. For everyone else it is $89 for the first visit and $65 after. No packages, no contracts.
No. Come now. We document what we find and the reason for the delay, and we start care the same day.
Adjustment waits until fracture and instability are ruled out by exam and imaging. Until then we use gentler methods, and some people never need more than that.
Most injury plans run six to twelve visits over about eight weeks. You will know your number by the second visit.
Yes, on a lien: we treat now and are paid from the settlement. Bring their card or have their office call Marisol.
We bill auto, liability, and workers' comp carriers directly. For health plans we give you a superbill to submit; most PPOs reimburse part of it.
