01 · The work
Care that fits your training week.
Most sessions combine two or three of these, chosen for what you're training for and what's getting in the way. Open any row for the details.
-
Joint assessment and adjustments for the spine, hips, shoulders and feet, chosen for what your sport asks of you.
30 minWhat happens
We check how the joints above and below the sore spot are moving, not just the spot itself. Adjustments are always explained first and always optional. If you'd rather not be adjusted, there are other ways to work.
Often paired with
Soft-tissue work and a movement screen.
-
Hands-on and instrument-assisted work for the calves, hips, hamstrings, back and shoulders that take the load.
30 minWhat happens
Pressure is your call, and we check in as we go. Each session ends with one or two drills, so the work carries into your next training day.
Often paired with
Chiropractic care, or on its own the week before an event.
-
A filmed look at how you squat, hinge, lunge, rotate and balance on one leg, so we can both see what's going on.
30 minWhat happens
Five movements, filmed from the front and side with your OK. You get the clips and a short written summary, and we repeat the same screen every few visits so you can see what has changed.
Often paired with
Every first visit, and return-to-training plans.
-
A written, week-by-week plan for getting back to running, lifting or riding after time off, shared with your coach if you like.
OngoingWhat happens
The plan lists what to do, what to hold back on and what to check before each step up. If something is outside what we do, we'll say so and help you find a sports medicine physician or physical therapist.
Good for
Anyone coming back after a break, a nagging ache or a new baby.
-
A short tune-up in race week and a recovery session once your legs come back to you.
20 minWhat happens
Race week is no time for surprises, so these sessions stay light and familiar. Book once you know your race date and we'll plan the timing with you.
Good for
Marathons, triathlons, meets, comps and paddle races.
02 · Who we see
Start with your sport.
Every sport loads the body differently. Pick yours to see the reasons people usually come in, and what we look at first.

Road · track · trail
Runners
From a first 10K to a marathon block. We look at how you move, how your mileage has changed, and what your body is telling you about both.
Common reasons runners come in
- Calf and Achilles tightness
- Knee pain on downhills or long runs
- Hip or IT band irritation
- Low back stiffness late in a run
What we look at
- Single-leg strength and control
- Ankle and hip mobility
- Recent changes in mileage or shoes
- Your training log, if you keep one

Barbell · Olympic · functional
Lifters
Strength training puts real load through the spine, hips and shoulders. We look at your positions under the bar and what changes when the weight goes up.
Common reasons lifters come in
- Low back tightness after heavy pulls
- Shoulder irritation pressing or overhead
- Hip pinching at the bottom of a squat
- Elbow or wrist tightness
What we look at
- Hinge, squat and overhead positions
- Mid-back rotation and shoulder range
- Bracing and breathing under load
- Your program and recent jumps in volume

Road · gravel · mountain
Cyclists
Long hours in one position add up. We look at how you move off the bike, and how you sit on it.
Common reasons cyclists come in
- Neck and upper back tension on long rides
- Low back stiffness in the drops
- Knee pain after changes in mileage or fit
- Tight hips and hamstrings
What we look at
- Hip and mid-back mobility
- A side-on photo of you on the bike
- Recent changes to saddle, cleats or bike
- Weekly hours and climbing

Shortboard · longboard · paddle
Surfers
Paddling, pop-ups and long sessions lying prone ask a lot of the shoulders, neck and low back. We look at the positions surfing asks for.
Common reasons surfers come in
- Shoulder tightness from paddling
- Neck and low back tension after long sessions
- Stiff hips or ankles in the pop-up
- Mid-back and rib tightness
What we look at
- Mid-back extension and rotation
- Shoulder rotation, both ways
- Hip and ankle range for the pop-up
- How often you're paddling out
- Climbing
- Hiking
- Tennis & pickleball
- Beach volleyball
- Swimming

If you move with purpose
Everyone who trains
Tell us what you do and what you're working toward, and we'll plan the session for it. No sport is too niche, and you don't need to be competing.
Common reasons people come in
- Stiffness that shows up after sessions
- An ache that keeps coming back
- Getting back to training after time off
- A check-in before a big event
What we look at
- The movements your activity repeats
- How your week of training is built
- What's changed recently
- What you want to be able to do next

After that, it's up to you.
You book one visit at a time. No prepaid packages, no long contracts.
Training block
Short sessions every week or two while you work through your plan. Most follow-ups are 30 minutes.
Re-test
Every few visits we re-run your movement screen next to the first one, and adjust the plan together.
Tune-ups
Once you're training the way you want to, come in when you need to, or before the events that matter.
04 · Who you'll see
Dr. Maya Okafor, chiropractor.
Maya starts every first visit the same way: by asking what you're training for. The sore spot matters, but so does the race in April, the new program you just started or the swell you don't want to miss.
She explains what she's doing before she does it, keeps your plan as short as it can be, and tells you straight when you'd be better served by someone else.
- 01Training firstYour schedule and goals set the plan, not a set number of visits.
- 02Explained, alwaysYou'll know what we're doing and why, and you can say no to anything.
- 03Honest referralsIf you need imaging, a physician or a physical therapist, we'll tell you and help you find one.

08 · Questions
Good questions.
The things people usually ask before their first visit.
Do I have to stop training?
Not by default. We'd rather adjust what you're doing than take it away. If we think you need rest or a different kind of care, we'll explain why and help you find it.
Are adjustments required?
No. Everything is explained before we do it, and you can say no to anything. There are other ways to work if adjustments aren't for you.
Can you work with my coach or physical therapist?
Yes. With your permission, we'll share your plan and keep them in the loop.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can book a first visit directly.
What should I wear?
Whatever you train in. Shorts and a T-shirt or tank top are ideal. Bring your running or lifting shoes if they're part of the story.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network, but you'll get a superbill after each visit to submit to your PPO plan. HSA and FSA cards are welcome.
